Araluen is surrounded by lots of beautiful natural habitat and is inhabited by a lot of native wildlife. After work or on days off, I would often head to this pretty little secluded spot by the river and draw, think and read for hours. Bliss!

So, some of you may remember the story of Cecilia Gimenez, the well meaning old Spanish lady who tried to ‘restore’ a very old, dilapidated painting of Jesus in her church.http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/video/201…(tharr be more)2/aug/23/art-restorer-ecco-homo-mural-video It did not go well.

My very talented friend Anna-Katrine Skau-Parker, who works at London based advertising agency BBH, came up with this simple yet endlessly hilarious website where you are able to have a go at ‘restoring’ your own painting. Above is one of my silly attempts inspired by this parody of the ‘hipster’ phenomenon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVmmYMwFj1I

Head over to http://www.ceciliaprize.com/ to have a go at restoring your own and upload it to the site with the many others, very fun!
